With eleven different films, Spektra gives you an insight into the colourful world of characters and projects that Carhartt supports within skateboarding. Packed in a classic DVDbox, Spektra comes with a folded, double sided poster. One side features a collage of photographs from Alexander Basile with images from the team that Alex shot during the time of filming. The other side is a Spektra logo poster, designed by Stefan Narancic. The DVD is available in Carhartt stores worldwide.
About the DVD:
The eleven films on the disc all have a different length – from short clips of only two minutes to full skatevideos that run half an hour – altogether the DVD has a running time of approximately two hours. The films have been directed by Henrik Edelbo from Copenhagen/ Denmark and David Couliau from Nantes/ France, who both started their relation to Carhartt as teamriders. An additional part has been filmed and edited by our french friend Paul Labadie aka The Dishwasher..
About the films:
STROKA MOZAK by Henrik Edelbo
Together with Add & Subtract, Stroka Mozak can be declared as one of the two main films on the DVD. With a running time of approx. 30 minutes each, both features are what comes closest to what most skateboarders would call a classic skatevideo.
MOZAK PARK by Henrik Edelbo
This 10 min. film takes you to different skateparks all over Europe. From Giorgio Zattonis Monster Ramp in Italy over different spots in Europe to Carhartt’s own skatepark located close to the headquarter in Weil am Rhein.
ADD & SUBTRACT by David Couliau
This is the 2nd full length film on the DVD. Together with Stroka Mozak, Add and Subtract completed our goal to show the entire team on the DVD. With a lot of experimental techniques like filming with a Minicam on the board or using damaged footage from his broken 16mm camera, David Couliau takes you on a visual journey..
KOMPLIKATIONER by David Couliau
Komplikationer is the swedish word for complications. Besides a full skatepart filmed all over the world, the 10 min film shows Pontus Alv in full affect in his hometown of Malmoe/ Sweden.
A MESSAGE FROM KLEZ by David Couliau
Pontus Alv and his alter ego Klez tell you what they think about skateboarding.
THE ROLLING DICES by David Couliau
Sit back and listen when Pontus tells you the story behind the rolling dices that he used in the outro of his film “The Strongest of the Strange”.
THE HOBBS THEORY by David Couliau
Meet Scott Bourne at his desk in his appartment in downtown Paris and let him take you on a small philosophic journey about writing, communication-technology and skateboarding. And of course you will see Mr. Bourne perform some of the tricks that made him so famous.
THE WHITE PROJECT by David Couliau
The white project has been a photographic project by french artist Bertrand Trichet. Equipped with a trunk full of painting material, a giant photobackground and his Hasselblad Camera, Bertrand travelled through Europe for almost a year together with David Couliau to shoot a special series of images with the carhartt team. The result was an amazing series of carhartt adverts on completely white spots. The photos got released in magazines worldwide and with a special postcard-calendar that got spread with 10000 copies of the only pan-european magazine: Kingpin Skateboarding Europe. David’s film lifts the curtain and allows you a view on the process of the creation of the images that got Bertrand Trichet a Hasselblad award. The film shows the entire series of photographs for the first time!
BLANC (K) by David Couliau
Blanc(k) is the 2nd feature about the White Project and shows all the analog 16mm and 8mm skatefootage from the photoshootings.
CIRCUS MAXXIMUS by David Couliau
Circus Maxximus has actually been a carhartt DVD relased a year ago that was dedicated to the whole world of culture that carhartt supports:
from art over music to bmx or skateboarding. The Circus Maxximus film on the Spektra DVD is the feature of two really contrary skateparts that David edited for the DVD back then. Let a really slow and easy atmospherical part take you into an explosion of magic moments of skateboarding.
GRAN CARHANARIA by Paul Labadie
Intended as the last trip for finishing the DVD, our teamriders travelled to the island of Gran Canaria to gather some last footage for the DVD. Paul Labadie, famous for his humorous editings, takes you on the ride..
