Carhartt WIP – whose music roots can be traced to Detroit, Michigan – joins forces with the Berlin-based club, record label and cultural institution Tresor, for a collaboration that celebrates the enduring spirit of two music metropolises.
The collaboration cements a long-standing partnership, and culminates in a capsule collection, vinyl compilation, and series of events hosted in Detroit and Berlin. Both the capsule collection and vinyl compilation will be released on May 23.
The nine-piece Carhartt WIP x Tresor capsule features an all-black and electric blue palette, where items are detailed with reflective and glow-in-the dark accents, as well as our iconic Boogeyman motif – merging the industrial spirit of Berlin and Detroit with a sense of 90s dance floor energy. The collection includes a Michigan Coat and shoulder bag, alongside a selection of printed and embroidered jersey items. The accompanying lookbook video features Berlin-based artists Jesse G, Erik Jabari, and JakoJako.
Titled 030313, the 12” vinyl compilation takes its name from the dialing codes of Berlin (030) and Detroit (313), while also echoing early 90s compilations such as Tresor II – A Techno Alliance. 030313 opens with “I.D.L.E”, a lost Model 500 track which merges cosmic melodies with a winding bassline. This is followed by Detroit duo Ectomorph’s “Searching (Live At Globus)”, and “Your Body”, an exclusive track by AMX (AKA The AM).
On the compilation’s B-Side is DJ Stingray 313’s “Dynamic Instability”, which pulses with dark, furious funk and industrial jack. The energy stays high with JakoJako’s “Metal Goat”, while “Screamcore” by nascent producer Erik Jabari closes out the record.

To celebrate the collaboration, a free daytime event will take place on May 25 at Waajeed’s Underground Music Academy in Detroit, featuring a barbecue and trunk sale, as well as DJ sets from the likes of AMX b2b Detroit in Effect and Spiñorita, and workshops from Ectomorph and HiTech. The event then moves to Tangent Gallery in the evening, for live performances by Model 500 and Titonton Duvanté, with support from Huey Mnemonic, Intergalactic Gary, and DJ Stingray 313.

On June 7, celebrations continue at Tresor in Berlin, with a free barbecue and presentation of the collection in the club’s garden. Talks by founder Dimitri Hegemann and former Tresor Records label manager Carola Stoiber will follow at the Hard Wax record store, with music from members of the Hard Wax team. The series rounds off with a club night in the evening, featuring Moodymann, DJ Etta, AMX, and Scan 7, as well as DJ Pete b2b Erik Jabari.
Carhartt WIP x Tresor launches on May 23 at Tresor’s online shop, select Carhartt WIP stores and carhartt-wip.com, as well as select retailers and record stores.
