This coming weekend sees this year’s instalment of Open Source Festival, bringing artists such as Austra, Trentemøller, Antilopen Gang or Die Sterne to the picturesque racecourse near the heart of Düsseldorf. On the Carhartt WIP stage you can check out acts like British production duo Mount Kimbie, London-born sonic futurist Gaika, Düsseldorf based pop duo BAR and Illa J, a prodigious Detroit beatmaker/rapper and brother of the legendary J Dilla. The same as last year, NTS will be on the ground broadcasting live from the festival, hosting the likes of Illa J, BAR and the African band Ogoya Nengo and The Dodo Women's Group, as well as famed Düsseldorf based musicians like Stefan Schneider or Harmonious Thelonious. The broadcast is part of an ongoing project between Carhartt WIP and NTS that brings a special custom-built booth, which looks like the original NTS radio booth in London, to gigs and festivals in order to broadcast live for all those who can’t make it. So, if you wanna be at Open Source, but something is keeping you away: tune in to NTS and get some real deep behind-the-scenes coverage and music.
