Since 2005 the music-loving collective J.A.W works with a clear vision: to represent soul music in all its variations. At best, in a live setting regardless of its roots - wether it is jazz, disco, electronic, Brazil or hip hop. Over the years, the J.A.W family booked a long list of renowned artists like Larry Heard, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Marcellus Pittman, Omar S and Sadar Bahar to perform in their hometown Paris. Since 2009 J.A.W brought their event series to Berlin and hosted both live events and DJs in various locations around the town featuring guests like Kamasi Washington, Floating Points, Four Tet, Gilles Peterson, Hunee or Volcov amongst many others.
Now J.A.W celebrates a month of family re-union and brings six events to Berlin and Paris. Amongst the invited performers are American jazz pianist Robert Glasper, up and coming South East London house and jazz duo Yussef Kamaal, Detroit legend Theo Parrish performing a rare all night long DJ gig, electronic musician and neuroscientist Floating Points, Amsterdam based soul man Hunee, disco, funk and soul specialist Sadar Bahar, German retro house music one-of-a-kind MCDE, playing an all jazz DJ set, UK's soul, funk, jazz, and beyond expert Gilles Peterson as well as Lebanese-born producer and DJ Rabih Beaini amongst others.
