Located in the middle of the Grafenberg Forest, where otherwise the drumming of horses’ hooves interrupts only rarely the happy chirping of birds, there is one of the most beautiful festival venues in Germany which surprises us once a year with all-new and unfamiliar sounds. Instead of horses people get animated with beats and bass to their maximum dancing capacity on the field. Whether you are galloping or decide to use the free shuttle bus, after the program of the day on the racecourse, around 10 pm you can head directly to the nearby monumental industrial Stahlwerk location that offers space for three dance floors as well as a spacious outdoor area.
During the day a string of newcomers and well renowned artists from all around the world come by. London's finest new Indiepop sensantion Breton perform, the New York duo The Hundred in the Hands introduce their new album Red Night, and Perfume Genuis unveils his story of love, sex and death armed only with his fragile voice and piano. The headliners are the infamouse North American border-crossers Beirut who will give you a lift with one of their ultra vivid shows.
On the Carhartt stage more music in many different colours will hit you. Africa Hitech play their epic electronic tracks, the Jazz meets Techno supergroub Brandt Brauer Frick mix warm melodies and rough rhythms, and Mouse On Mars present their new album Parastrophics for the first time in their former hometown Düsseldorf.
At night the party caravan moves on to Stahlwerk where Düsseldorfs new Krautrock sensation Stabile Elite warms up the crowd before Denmarks best party band WhoMadeWho will heat up the place. Beside this lots of Techno and House artists such as Jacek Sienkiewicz or SLG will ensure that everbody dances till sunrise.
