One of the 2 main directors of Spektra, David Couliau, is organizing a screening of the DVD interlinked into a massive exhibition in his hometown Nantes. The film will be shown at POL’N, a place that hosts 10 different associations working in different fields such as Cinema, Theater, Grafitti, Art, Literature and that has a gallery with a big exhibition place. Here the details from Monsieur Couliau:
“… and the discussion leaded us to organising an exhibition instead of just making a one night party and screening, as they had a free week in their schedule that we could use… The exhibition space is the ground level and it’s between 300m2 and 400m2 big. It’s a really open space, but we can install several spaces. So, we’re going to start on the 30th of January with the Opening of the Exhibition and the Screening of SPEKTRA and we have the place until the 5th of February. On the Opening/Screening night, i will do a 2 screens projection of the video… then we have 3 DJs, all of them former skateboarders, some quite big names over here, for the party. I want to buy few drinks from the bar (yes, there’s also a Bar in there)… then, for the exhibitions, we will have several things: – …Bertrand Trichet and Stephanie Solinas – DeuX2 and CONVINCE ME! – We have 30 to 40 artists from my friend’s graffiti association 100PRESSION’s who are right painting boards especially for the event, the blanks are supplied by ARTPRINT – There is also that guy called MAXIME, aka HETOK, an illustrator from Bordeaux, living in Nantes, who has a complete exhibition on boards ready. And there’s also another friend, Samuel Boche, who is part of a collective called BARRICADE, who’s gonna build some ephemeral structures, like strange skatable obstacles that people can actually skate during the all week. So, i guess that’s it for the exhibtion…”
Sounds like more than one good reason to go to Nantes!
