Carhartt WIP proudly presents the fall / winter 2017 tour of the Canadian quartett BadBadNotGood. The band from Toronto, Ontario, is globally known for their unique, funky interpretations of hip-hop tracks and their stunning collaborations with stars like Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, The Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown and Snoop Dogg. The group, which was founded in 2011, consists of keyboard player Matthew Tavares, Chester Hansen on bass, Saxophone player Leland Whitty and drummer Alexander Sowinski. Their live shows are renowned for their mesmerizing mix of jazz, rock and hip-hop that works on big stages and in cozy little clubs. Their 2014 LP III took the music world by storm with an audacious melange of cool jazz improvisations, sweet ballads, drifty Krautrock grooves and slamming futuristic hip-hop rhythms. With their second album IV, they continued on their mission to unite diverse musical spheres and delivered a project that evoked the sonic stylings of artists and bands like Can, John Coltrane, Weather Report and Arthur Russell. For their upcoming tour they have not announced any new accompanying material – but seeing as BadBadNotGood work constantly, their fans can be sure to hear something decidedly unusual and fresh.
