The host for this month’s edition of Carhartt WIP Radio is Flohio, the dynamic London-based rapper who first made waves in 2016 with her debut EP Nowhere Near, and gained further acclaim with the release of her EP Wild Yout in 2018.
Flohio’s style is inimitable, her production choices ever expansive. Previously working with the likes of Modeselektor, JETS, and L-Vis 1990, the artist’s body of work demonstrates her ability to cut through a range of genres, from experimental electronic to high-octane hip hop. Her upcoming album “Out of Heart”, out on 7th October, sees her working again with leftfield production duo God Colony.
Featured as part of Carhartt WIP’s Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, Flohio appears alongside NTS WIP artist Tweaks, London rapper Lord Apex, and the Carhartt WIP skate team in a series of images that zero in on the brand’s roots in music and skateboarding. This isn’t the first time Flohio has collaborated with the brand. In 2017 she featured in 2117, a publication which celebrated the iconic chore coat.
In this episode, Flohio has prepared a show with God Colony in which the group discusses the making of her debut album, while playing some exclusive teaser tracks from the LP.
