Carhartt WIP x Trojan Records in-store celebrations

For Fall/Winter 2018, Carhartt WIP has collaborated with the iconic Trojan Records, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic UK reggae record label with a unique capsule collection. Founded in 1968, Trojan introduced reggae to a global audience while scoring UK chart hits with artists such as The Upsetters, Desmond Dekker, Jimmy Cliff and The Maytals. Additionally, the label licensed Jamaican music by legendary producers such as Duke Reid and Leslie Kong, helping take their sounds global.
The capsule collection features feverish graphics by the Chicago-based design collective Boot Boyz. Since launching in 2015 Boot Boyz have turned fanboying into an art. Bringing together found imagery and archive ephemera, the group produce merch that pays tribute to their heroes and influences. For Carhartt WIP’s collaboration with Trojan Records, Boot Boyz were given access to the record label’s graphic archive, creating a series of t-shirts in their own signature DIY style.
To mark the Carhartt WIP x Trojan Records collection launch, we will be celebrating with several events across Europe at our Carhartt WIP stores. Check the line-ups below and if you can't make it make sure you tune in to our Carhartt WIP Radio Show for August, featuring the Canadian DJ, producer and record collector Scott Monteith, aka Deadbeat, who dug deep into his personal collection and the archives of Trojan to curate a mix that mirrors the many ska, rocksteady, reggae and dub sounds of the British label.
