Time waits for no DJ… It has already been a year since NTS broadcasted live from the city of the Angels, and to celebrate twelve months in the heat of LA, they have put together an uplifting line-up for a party that’ll go down in two parts. The first one takes place from 7 to 10 pm at the studios of Brain Dead, a Los Angeles-based creative collective of artists and designers. NTS host Natalie James, aka NJ, will play some of her current favorite tracks. Furthermore, Dallas-based psychedelic soul crooner Jon Bap will perform alongside ten-strong jazz collective Katalyst and NTS residents Ahwlee & Pink Siifu will join forces with the fresh local rap-slash-r&b duo B Cool-Aid, who will also be perform tunes of their debut album BRWN.
The bash continues from 10pm to 2am at General Lee's, the iconic LA institution, which has a much loved watering hole since 1890. Here, NTS host Gene's Liquor will drop some new hip hop and beyond tunes and London raised, whilst LA based DJ and crate digger Budgie will bring gospel grooves, presenting his latest release The Good Book, which he recently launched with his buddy The Alchemist. The party will be rounded off by the DJ skills of Mixed Fruit and Marcy, who will play the latest underground LA grooves peppered with some European electronics that hug the kick-drum. Both events are free with RSVP, sign up here.
