For the first time the Belgian label Meakusma celebrates the music it releases since 2008. Already since 2004 the label owners have been running club nights and concerts in their local region of Eupen/Belgium. Now they fete a festival that is taking place in the beautiful borderland nature in the Belgian province of Liège. During three days dub, techno, jazz, avantgarde, classic and strange sounds from beyond call the tune. On the bill are Milan's hypnotic psychedelic rockers Al Doum & The Faryds, Techno experimental girl Karen Gwyer, Berlin based French odd electronic producer rrRoxymore, UK's strange rap prayers Babyfather and Dug Out label runners Mark Ernestus and Mark Ainley, who will play an exclusive rare b2b digital dancehall set. Furthermore famed UK selector Ben Ufo, experimental minimal techno musician Thomas Brinkmann, guitar experimentalist Mike Cooper, Mix Mup and Kassem Mosse aka MM/KM, Substance, Nadar Ensemble and Düsseldorf's avant-industrial sensation Toresch will perform amongst others.
The festival will also feature a dedicated film program, lectures and art installations that will gain insights into labels like Mississippi Records from Portland/Oregon - globally famed for unearthing old and new music from all around the world. Also the online radio Dublab will host a floor and will broadcast live from the festival ground. For deeper information on tickets, accommodation and more, check the festival website.
