SUMMON THE SNAKE BEAST is the title of a series of 3 skateboards with progressing shapes and graphics, designed by James Callahan in cooperation with Carhartt Work in Progress. The boards are “mutating” in 3 steps: from a classic 8” modern shape over a 1990s belly shaped 9” to a square-tailed 9,5” batwing destroyer! Each board comes in red laminate, screenprinted top and bottom graphics and is shrinkwrapped with a 16 piece diecut stickerbag and a full color comic, telling the story of the SNAKE BEAST! The series has a state of the art quality, manufactured in the USA by Generator Woodshop.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
“James Callahan is a writer and illustrator, working on the east coast of the U.S., often under the less innocuous moniker, Barf Comics. Known for his hyper-intense detail and bold line work, Callahan’s illustrations have appeared on the pages of Thrasher and Acclaim Magazine, Marvel Comics, as well as hundreds of record covers, band shirts, skateboard decks, and other comic books. In addition, he is a co-founder and art director for Born Ugly, a skateboard magazine saturated with artwork; and he is the owner and operator of Nowhere Skateboards. Callahan’s typical work life consists of being hunched over a drawing table for long periods of time, punctuated with skate sessions and aimless wanderings through the woods with his canine companion and confidant, Pizza, the Dog. In his leisure time, Callahan continues towards his goal of socially isolating himself from everyone on the planet, one person at a time. He executes this with his own unique blend of awkwardness, apathy, confusion, and obliviousness; even managing to creep out those who actively and sincerely want to like him prior to introduction. He looks forward to meeting you, inadvertently offending you, and then occasionally and uncomfortably crossing paths with you. Self deprecation is also a strong suit.” (JC)
