Thursday kicked off with the Junior Champs containing 62 junior competitors, ten of them were qualified straight to the qualification on Saturday.
Friday all day the street prequalification were going on and at night therain came in and Vert qualification postphone to Saturday noon. The sun came even out for the vert qualification and the finals in vert continue Saturday evening. Last years winner Terrence Bougdour from France became third for his famous Frontside Rodeo and 720s. On the secondplace landed Jussi Korhonen from Finland with precious McTwist variations and Indy Gaytwist Heelflip. And finally after all this years placing second Juergen Horrwarth from Berlin, Germany is European Champion in the Vert – in his run, he hit 27 Walls with switch liptricks and tailgrab 540s. Not only that, Juergen is also European Champion in Miniramp-Bowl. He placed first in the qualification and due to the rain on Sunday the finals in Miniramp-Bowl got rained out and somebody got lucky. Second in the Miniramp-Bowl is last years winner Andrew Scott from the UK and on the third place also a know face in Basel is Harri Puupponen from Finland.

On the schedule for Saturday was qualification street all day long, outstanding new face was youngster Helder Lima from Portugal. For Helder it was his first bigger contest and for that it is amazing that he qualified first for the finals on Sunday. Sunday started with the girls, this year we had 23 girls in the contest, as the boys the qualification for the girls also consists of jam sessions of 4 minutes with 4 skateboarders. Ianire Elorriaga from Spain is now European Champion in street for girls! On the second place Lisa Jacob from France and on the third place Sabrina Göggel from Germany.
Already the street semis were seen by a packed crowd in the “Kunschti” with 60 skateboarders and then it was finally time to see the best 12 European skateboarders with 90-second runs. Axel Cruysbergh from Belgium was certainly not only the crowd pleaser with his 11 years, he also frontside boardslided the big rail, ollied 360 oliie over the pyramid. in the quarter and lickflipped the wallride, kickflip the funbox, frontside flipped the pyramid frontside boardslided the big rail and backside kickflipped the pyramid perfectly. He also got rewarded for the New Comer of Philipp Schuster from Austria is a pleasure to watch skateboarding doing tailslides 270s and Suski grinds, nosegrinds over the pole, 5-0 to crooked grinds – that made him third in this European Skateboard Championships. Kilian Heuberger is also know to be one of Germany’s best skateboarders and now is also second in Europe with clean nosegrabs over the funboox, nollie fronside boardslide on the small rail, nollie frontsilde heelflip on the London gap and ollie over the big rail and frontside halfcab over the fun box. With 360 flip over the London gap backside halfcab flip over the pyramide, frontside 180 switch nosewheelie, huge frontside flip down the London gap Alex Mizurov from Germany persuaded the judges and is European Champion in street!
Four wonderful days and a little rain went by way too fast and hopefully we see each other again, when it is time to meet in Basel!
