Brand new retro — the Catalan capital of Barcelona gets a new one-day festival titled Curva imposible. Expect a bunch of DJs and soon-to-be-on-everyone’s-lips artists playing sounds from the past, present and future. Carhartt WIP proudly presents its launch on the 26th of January with a pre-festival in-store show at your Carhartt WIP Store Barcelona Duc. On the bill is the Barcelona based DJ, radio host and Zauberstab zine head-honcho Alicia Carrera and Berlin-based production duo As Longitude. Both will play DJ sets full of contemporary and archival techno, EBM, Krautrock, Synth-wave and neo-industrial emotions.
One day later Curva imposible will open its doors at Sala Upload around 9pm to present two adventurous dance floors. In the calmer Mystic Room, Barcelona's Discos Paradiso, mysterious but well-known Nohj Atotbal, NTS host ML and Offen Music supervisor Vladimir Ivkovic will spin some cabalistic grooves that ease and propel the senses simultaneously. Ivkovic will later join his old Salon Des Amateurs’ friend Lena Willikens, when they together play the headlining DJ slot at Twin Room as Willikens & Ivkovic — the new super duo for odd surprising dance floor sensations. Before they start, As Longitude will perform their analogue leftfield Synthwave live and Belgrade based band Tapan presents their debut album Europa live with a stunning trip through modern jazz, world-music spheres and techno rhythms. A line-up for an enchanted night that will have nothing in common with the average assembly line club sound of today. Exspect raw rhythms, blissful soundscapes, peculiar grooves and fierce compostions for open minded dancers.
